Certificate of good conduct

General

A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is proof of good behaviour which you need if you want to work in education or childcare (for example). You can apply for this certificate online. You do not have to come to the service desk. You can also arrange an appointment to do this at the service desk.

Apply online

Apply for a Certificate of Conduct online. Include the completed Certificate of Conduct application form with your application. You can get this form from your (future) employer. You can pay for the application with iDEAL.

Apply for the Certificate of Conduct (VOG) at the service desk

Arrange an appointment to apply for a Certificate of Conduct in person at the service desk. 

What you need to bring along 

  • A completed Certificate of Conduct application form . Your (future) employer will give this to you.
  • A valid identity document. 
  • Your debit or credit card. 

If you are authorising someone, this person must also bring a written authorisation with them, plus his or her own identity document and a copy of your identity document.

What you need to know

  • Apply for a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) from the council where you live. 
  • A Certificate of Conduct is issued by the Ministry of Justice (Justis).
  • The Ministry of Justice (Justis) screens a person who applies for a Certificate of Conduct before it is issued.  
  • The Certificate of Conduct or the rejection letter is sent by post to your home address within 4 weeks. 
  • Volunteers can apply for a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) online free of charge. An organisation where a volunteer works can apply for a Certificate of Conduct from Justis
  • If you live abroad or do not have a permanent address, apply for a Certificate of Conduct at Justis
