What you need to know
If you are temporarily without a residence or staying in an institution, you may qualify for a postal address registration. This means your mail can be directed to another person’s address.
When you may be eligible for a postal address registration:
- If you are homeless or temporarily without a fixed residence and registered with an institution
- If you lack a residential address for a short period
- If you are emigrating temporarily (e.g., for an internship or study) but will not return to your previous address
- If you work on a ship with a home port in the Netherlands
- If you reside in an institution (such as youth care, healthcare facilities, women's shelters, or prisons)
The resident at the address must consent and is required to pass on your mail to you.
