Visitors’ scheme
General
The visitors' scheme allows visitors of residents in the city centre and neighbourhoods where paid parking applies, to park at a low price.
Types of scheme
Depending on where you move to, your visitors may be able to park on the street or in a car park:
On-street parking applies to permit areas: Belcrum, Brabantpark, Tuinen van Genta, Boeimeer, Driehoefijzers Noord, Driehoefijzers Zuid, Koolwijkpark, Linie, Oud Boeimeer, Sportpark, Spoorbuurt and surrounding area and Zandberg and surrounding area.
Parking in a car park applies to permit area Nonnenveld and surrounding area.
In the following permit areas, a choice can be made between a car park or street: Gerardus Majella and surrounding area (only the Gasthuisvelden and Arsenaalpad car parks), Middellaan and surrounding area and Sophiastraat and surrounding area, Breda Vooruit.
City centre residents can only apply for the Visitors' Scheme - Car Park.
Exception: Residents of Catharinastraat, Grote Markt, Halstraat, Hof van Hersbeek, Kapucijnenhof, Koevoet, Molenstraat, Oude Vest (uneven numbers), St. Annastraat, Stadserf, St. Janstraat and Veemarktstraat can also opt for the Visitors' Scheme - Street for permit area Sophiastraat and surrounding area (area 1302).
How does the visitors' scheme work?
Based on your address, you can apply for the visitors' scheme in P-loket for parking for your visitors on the street or in a car park (depending on your address). Use 2park to arrange and pay for on-street parking. To park in a car park, buy an exit ticket in P-loket.
If you live in a neighbourhood where either is an option, you can choose between on-street or car park parking.
On-street parking
Step 1
Step 2
Add parking credit to your account
Transfer an amount to your personal account via iDEAL in 2Park. This amount will be added to your balance. Use this balance to pay for your visitors' parking. You choose how much you want to add; a maximum of € 60 per quarter.
Any credit remaining at the end of the quarter can be used in the next quarter. The quarters are:
1st quarter: January to March inclusive
2nd quarter: April to June inclusive
3rd quarter: July to September inclusive
4th quarter: October to December inclusive
You can have up to 240 hours of parking in each quarter at the low rate of € 0,25 per hour.
Step 3
Sign in and sign out visitors
Sign in and sign out your visitors in 2Park using the number plate of your visitors' car. You can sign in more than one number plate at the same time. Your visitors may only park in the parking zone where you live.
When your visitors leave, sign out the number plate. The parking fees will be deducted from your balance. There is no maximum registration time for paid parking when using the visitors' scheme.
Please note: your visitors' registration in 2Park will expire automatically at 00.00 hours (midnight). This will prevent you unnecessarily overpaying if you forget to sign out. If paid parking applies in an area until, for example, 01.00 hours, you therefore have to re-register the parking.
If you have reached the maximum balance of the visitors' scheme, you can switch to the 'Visitors' Scheme - Street Normal Rate'. The method is the same as the Visitors' Scheme - Street, but visitors will then pay the normal street rate. Apply for this scheme in P-loket.
If you are unable to register your visitors in 2Park, they can pay at the parking meter, or use the mobile parking app.
Parking in car park: Het Turfschip
Step 1
Apply for the Visitors’ scheme
You can apply for the "Visitor' scheme" via the P-Loket:
- Select the parking garage where the visitor'scheme will apply.
- Confirm your application.
The visitor arrangement will be active immediately.
Step 2
Create a 2Park Account
After signing up, you will receive a confirmation email. Use the link in the email to create a personal account in 2Park. With 2Park, you can allow your visitors to park in the garage.
Step 3
Add Credit to Your 2Park Account
In 2Park, you can add credit to your account using iDeal. This amount will be added to your balance. You use this balance to pay for your visitors' parking.
- You can choose the amount to add, with a maximum of € 96 per year.
- You can allow up to 48 parking sessions for € 2 per day.
Step 4
Register Visitors in 2Park
You can register your visitors in 2Park by entering their car license plate number. Your visitors will be able to enter and exit the parking garage using license plate recognition. You can register multiple license plates at the same time. However, visitors may only park in the garage where you applied for the visitor' scheme via the P-Loket.
Make sure to register your visitors before they enter the garage. If you don’t, they will have to pay the regular parking rate.
You do not need to deregister your visitors in 2Park. The entered license plate is valid for one exit from the garage within 24 hours. For each parking session, € 2 will be deducted from your balance.
Parking in a car park: Oranje Zuid or De Prins
Step 1
Order exit tickets
Log into P-loket using DigiD and order 24 exit tickets for the Turfschip, Oranje Zuid or De Prins car parks. You can order these twice per calendar year (48 exit tickets in total). The tickets will be sent to your home by post within 5 working days.
Step 2
Entering and leaving
Your visitors take an entry ticket when entering the car park. When visitors leave, they insert this entry ticket into the payment terminal and pay with the exit ticket you have given them.
Your visitors can park using an exit ticket for a maximum of 24 consecutive hours. If your visitors stay for longer, they will require an exit ticket for every 24 hours.
Validity of the exit ticket
An exit ticket is valid in the current calendar year and the next calendar year. The expiry date is shown on the ticket.
Moving house
If you move house within a permit area or move to another permit area, cancel your current Visitors' Scheme - Street. Apply for a new Visitors' Scheme - Street once the council has processed your address change.
