Waste collection in and around the city centre

Presenting and collecting waste in and around the city centre is arranged differently.

The collection times have been updated and divided into separate routes for residents  and businesses. Please check the new times.

Residents in the city centre

In the city centre, if you have a waste disposal pass, you can present your waste for collection by the refuse truck, or take it to an underground rubbish container.

The truck follows specific routes at fixed times for residents for the separate collection of:

• paper and cardboard
• plastic packaging, tin and drink cartons in the special bags that are available free of charge
• non-recyclable waste

With your waste disposal pass you can take your waste, paper and cardboard, plastic packaging materials and drink cartons for collection to the bicycle storage area on Nieuwstraat and Oude Vest.

Residents around the city centre

Around the city centre, you can dispose of waste at the collection containers in your area. For the underground rubbish containers, you use the waste disposal pass.

Businesses in and around the city centre

Businesses with a waste processing contract are allowed to dispose of commercial waste. For commercial waste in and around the city centre, a separate refuse truck follows specific routes at fixed times for businesses.
