Submit an objection to decisions on work, income, social assistance benefit, special social assistance, support under the Social Support Act (Wmo), debt counselling, youth care, or School Transport.
Initial contact
First, contact the municipality if the decision is unclear. Indicate that you have questions about the decision and mention the reference number. An employee will answer your questions and explain the decision.
If you still disagree with the decision after this, you can file an objection. You can submit an objection within 6 weeks of the decision being sent.
What can you object to?
Decisions in the Social Domain concern:
- Work and income, such as social assistance benefits or special assistance.
- Debt counselling or social support (Wmo).
- Youth care or student transport.

Submitting an objection by Post
You can also send your objection by post. Your objection letter must include the following:
- Your name and address
- Reference number of the decision you are objecting to (or attach a copy of the decision you are objecting to)
- Reason for your objection
- Date of your objection letter
- Your signature
Include your phone number and/or email address in the objection letter so the municipality can contact you to discuss your objection.
If someone else is submitting an objection on your behalf, include a power of attorney with the phone number and/or email address of the person authorized to act for you.

If you want to postpone the decision
If you want the decision not to take effect immediately, you can request a provisional measure from the Preliminary Relief Judge of the Zeeland-West-Brabant District Court. There are costs associated with this.

Submitting an appeal
If you disagree with the decision on your objection, you can submit an appeal to the Zeeland-West-Brabant District Court within 6 weeks of the decision on your objection. There are costs associated with this.
You can also submit an appeal digitally to the court.
