Plastic packaging, tin and drink cartons

Place plastic packaging, tin (cans) and empty drink cartons in a wheelie bin or in transparent bags at home, or place them in a container in your area. Plastic and empty drink cartons, tin (cans) are collected once every 2 weeks.

Using a plastic bag?  Always use transparent plastic bags or the special bags which are available free of charge. Non-transparant bags will not be collected.

Plastic packaging waste

  • aluminium foil
  • aluminium lids, trays, beer caps, empty wax tealight holders
  • butter, sauce and cheese spread tubs
  • empty coffee pack
  • empty crisp/nut bags, etc. (plastic bags lined with foil)
  • empty blister packs (for medicine/chewing gum, etc.)
  • food can (e.g. sweetcorn)
  • fruit juice, milk, custard, yoghurt, soup or pasta sauce packets
  • pasta, rice, bread, biscuit and sweet packets
  • plant pots (hard and soft plastics, no outer pots)
  • plastic carrier bags and small bags
  • shampoo, shower gel and detergent bottles
  • sauce and oil squeeze bottles
  • tin cans
  • vegetables, cheese, meat and fish packaging
  • water and soft drinks bottles
  • yoghurt, custard and ice cream containers and tubs
